Flipkart to acquire ANS Commerce for over Rs 250 Cr

Flipkart E-commerce has split its ecosystem this year with the acquisition of online tourism agency Cleartrip and the e-pharmacy market Sastasundar. The Walmart-controlled company is now close to making another acquisition.

Flipkart is in talks to acquire ANS Commerce that allows for a full e-commerce stack, according to three people who know about the development.

“Flipkart is in the process of negotiating an acquisition of ANS Commerce in a deal worth Rs 250-300 crore,” said one source, who asked not to be named.

ANS Commerce is a full-fledged e-commerce platform that helps brands sell online. Provides product store technology, marketing, management, inventory, and fulfillment.

Founded by Amit Monga, Vibhor Sahare, Sushant Puri, and Nakul Singh, the Gurugram-based startup had just received $ 2.2 million in its pre-series A round led by Gokul Rajaram and Venture Catalysts.

According to sources, the deal is likely to close in the next few weeks.

ANS Commerce works with more than 100 brands such as Jack & Jones, Vero Moda, HUL, Piramal, Lakme, Nivea, Oziva, CEAT, and Bikanervala. According to the company, it will reach 150-180 brands by the end of this financial year. Using a direct wave to the consumer (D2C), the company plans to produce 30% of D2C products.

“Discovery will provide Flipkart’s new business line and enhance its exposure between emerging and existing D2C products,” said the person quoted above.

“We do not comment on rumors or speculation,” said ANS Commerce. Questions posted to Flipkart did not receive an immediate response. We will review the post in case they do.

ANS Commerce was part of the Flipkart Flipkart Leap acceleration program announced by the e-commerce giant in January this year. Entropik Tech, Fashinza, Gully Network, Piggy, Tagbox Solutions, Unbox Robotics, and Fasal were also selected for the program.

If the agreement is successful, ANS Commerce will be the third acquisition of Flipkart in a continuous fiscal (FY22). In the last two cents, Flipkart acquired five companies including Scapic, Mech Mocha, Walmart’s B2B business.

In addition to the acquisition, it has also invested in Ninjacart, Shadowfax, Aditya Birla Fashion Retail Limited, Arvind Fashions, and USPL. Flipkart and his US-based parent Walmart recently led a $ 145 million round of Ninjacart.
